In your day-to-day life, electronic cigarettes are simply easier to use, more accessible, and make it easier to be around others, especially nonsmokers. So when you travel by air, and totally get out of your comfort zone and all that is totally familiar, they take one more burden off your shoulders.
Just because you are traveling on a plane doesn’t mean you have to revert back to traditional cigarettes!
Vapor gives you the flexibility you need and love in your daily life, and this is even more important when traveling. Here are a few things to know when getting to your destination as smoothly as possible, and to make sure you will have no troubles vaping along the way.
Air travel may be the fastest way to cross great distances, but it also comes with the most restrictions. Security is high, and for good reason of course.
While TSA checkpoints may aggravate many to high degrees, they are there to ensure personal and national security, and they are inevitable parts of boarding airplanes.
In short, they are unavoidable!
While you may have difficulty bringing along many things, especially liquids in your carry-on, the Transportation Security Administration has no restrictions against electronic cigarettes and the accompanying supplies being carried in luggage, either checked or in your carry-on.
If you are not sure where you should pack your e-cigarettes; wondering whether your carry-on or checked baggage will be better, it’s a safer go to keep them in your carry-on. If your checked baggage is subject to a search, and your electronic cigarettes are discarded, you will have no say in the matter. If they are with you, and you are questioned, you will be able to provide a proper explanation. While e-cigarettes are quite common, there are still many people who are not aware of them!
As you are free to bring your electronic cigarettes with you, remember that there are restrictions when and where you can vape. Vaping is not allowed on airplanes, because even though they produce no combustion, and no smoke, they do not have federal approval.
Many airports do allow vaping in the terminal, but not all.
Some airport rules consider them to be no different than traditional cigarettes, and require you to vape in the “smoking” section, which defeats the purpose of using electronic cigarettes altogether. Hopefully in the future this will be re-examined and changed!
Vaping while traveling is much more people-friendly, and travel-friendly than smoking their tobacco counterparts, and if you just take notice of the things you can and can’t do, it can go even smoother.
