Think Environmental: Vape

Vaping for the Environment Of all the reasons to turn to electronic cigarettes, one of the very best besides your health, is the environment. Did you know that cigarette butt pollution is the world’s largest source of ground pollution? In addition to that, growing tobacco is an extremely toxic process, due to the amount of chemicals and radioactive fertilizer that are used.

Switching to electronic cigarettes on the half of the environment is one of the best things you can do as a smoker. Cigarette butts end up everywhere. For some reason, smokers can be rather careless about where they toss them, after smoking simply flicking them to the ground seems convenient. This is such an unfortunate occurrence, though it is a global reality. However this seemingly small action has a long-term, lasting, and toxic effect, because cigarette butts are not designed to disintegrate easily.

Butts are comprised of a vast array of non-biodegradable materials (including fiberglass), they’re loaded with chemicals, and they can take many decades to break down. As they decompose, they leach these chemicals into the environment, creating an ongoing trail of toxins, polluting bodies of water and the earth as it occurs.

All the while, they are a threat to wildlife because they resemble items of food. In turn, they end up in the digestive systems of birds, fish, reptiles, mammals, and marine animals, often killing them, because they can be a choking hazard, or an indigestible item, creating a blockage.

As an alternative, electronic cigarettes offer a practical ecological option because they are a reusable item, and one that does not produce a constant, endless stream of trash. When disposed, they are not easily tossed to the ground and forgotten, they can be recycled, and they are made to last a long while. If using standard e-cigarettes, a helpful comparison to keep in mind that a single cartomizer is equivalent to approximately 40 traditional cigarettes! That cuts back on quite a significant amount of waste!

Surely, there is a great sense of responsibility in either choice, whether you are a smoker or a vaper, regarding how you go about your commitment to disposing of your trash, however simply choosing electronic over analog can help choose the environmental option by halting the treadmill production of trash.

Switching to Vapor Can Add Some Spice to Your Sex Life

Smoking & Your Sex LifePretty bold statement, there, right? Think we’re just trying to get your attention by mentioning that switching to e-cigs can benefit your game in the bedroom? Think again! Here are some very thought-provoking facts to consider about smoking, and how it can impact your performance (where it matters most).

Smoke & Your Heart: Smoking is awful for your cardiovascular health in so many ways. Can’t run a solid mile? Get winded when you try to jog around the block? A flight of stairs get you panting (and not in a good way)? If so, then it’s possible that tobacco is having a negative effect on your heart, and you most likely won’t be putting in overtime in the sack. Being able to handle moderate cardio is essential for your heart’s intended functions throughout life, and if it can’t handle simple tasks, and those that should bring the most fun, you may want to reconsider your options.

Smoke & Your Lungs: In conjunction with good heart health, having properly functioning lungs is also necessary to your sex life. Your respiratory system takes care of your ability to breathe; if you can’t breathe well, you’re not going to be able to do much of anything that requires physical effort for long. Feeling like you’re going to pass out in the middle of a good time is never hot.

Libido: Smoking has the potential to decrease the libido; talk about a turnoff! And, if smoking has caused you to get out of shape, you probably don’t feel particularly sexy… which can put a hamper on any sultry escapades you would have been having otherwise.

Erections: Yeah, we’re going there. If the heart, blood vessels, and blood flow get affected by something, your ability to have potent erections probably will too. Smoking messes with practically every system in the body, and research suggests that men who smoke are twice as likely to develop ED as nonsmokers.

So, are you convinced that tobacco is not sexy at all yet? With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, there is no better time than right now to be thinking about all things love and lust related! Simply: if you want to improve your sex life, vapor is the way to go. Lucky for you, we’ve got a great selection of e-cigarette starter kits that can make it easy and sexy to make the switch; what are you waiting for?

What to Expect When Switching to E-Cigs

switch to vapor So, you’ve decided to make 2016 the year of all years to be done with traditional cigarettes once and for all. You’ve got that brand new, handy e-cigarette starter kit, some delicious cartridges in assorted flavors, and a whole lot of motivation on your side. Last pack of tobacco cigs has been smoked and the empty package is disposed. This is it – you’re ready to switch to e-cigs!

So, now what?

Well, it’s going to be different, and we’re here to tell you that you’re going to do great. It most likely will not be a quick snap of the fingers and your tenure with tobacco will be a thing of the past. Perhaps you will never again touch another traditional cigarette, however, expect to need some time to transition thoroughly.

One of the benefits to switching your method of smoking, (to vapor cigs) as opposed to outright quitting, is that you get the freedom of creating so much of the same experience. You still get to enjoy the feeling of actually smoking, being able to puff on the e-cigarette and feel the hit of vapor in your throat, and tasting it. You will still get that familiar feeling of nicotine, if you decide to use cartridges at a similar level of nicotine you are used to. It’s really quite similar, and it’s a process that can be tailored to your needs.

The first week is typically the hardest because the change will most likely hit you most dramatically. THe cravings for what you’re used to will probably hit. Your habit of lighting and smoking the cig will probably irk you. Your body will most likely yearn for the chemicals it no longer is being fed. This is all very normal. Stick with it though, it’s only a matter of time before this passes.

Having the ability to customize your vaping is another benefit you have when switching to e-cigs. There are so many options, you have the ability to go with more or less nicotine, choose your flavor, choose the style and size of your device, choose amongst a wide array of different devices, which accessories to incorporate into your usage; there are just so many ways to make vaping a part of your lifestyle, and tailor it into your way of life; unlike tobacco, which required you to adapt to its conformity. If 2016 is your year to get smoke free, stay on track; you’ll be so proud of yourself once you make it through!

Too Early For a Resolution? No Way!

Switch to Vaping Resolution 2016Hey, the year is almost done and gone; where did it go? We’re looking at less than two weeks now, and as much celebrating as there is to do in the coming 12 days, with parties, gatherings, and whatever kinds of merrymaking you’re going to be up to, 2016 is almost here and that means it’s almost resolution time!

Do you make resolutions? Are you of the “never, ever” sort or the “always, but forget about them by February” sort? It’s all good either way. However, if you’re serious about making the switch from tobacco to vapor, let 2016 be the year. Maybe you’ve tried making the switch before. Maybe you’ve run through all the usual suspects: cold turkey, nicotine patches, the gums, hypnosis, positive thinking, a divergent addiction to fill the void… and winded up right back where you started: a pack a day.

Don’t let distractions get in your way this year. We know how difficult it can be to make major changes, however, we also know very well the sweet, incomparable feeling of success that comes with overcoming each hurdle when it comes to switching to vaping. We know all about what it takes to go the distance when switching to vapor smoking, so definitely take a few minutes to check out our incredibly diverse, loaded-with-info Knowledge Center than can serve as an amazing resource anytime you’ve got a question or concern when it comes to vaping.

The best way to get into “switch” mode would be to make the commitment by purchasing a starter kit. Go after a basic one, don’t spend a fortune as you’re getting acquainted. Allow yourself to transition by using traditional cigarettes with your e-cigs. Experiment with flavors and techniques. Set goals, remind yourself with positive affirmations, and be gentle on yourself if it takes a while. Eventually, it’ll be second nature!

So, get ready for 2016! Let this be the year you switch for good, and make good on your promises to yourself! Here’s to the smokefree life! Cheers!

British Study Shows Even Temporary Switch to E-Cigarettes Beneficial

multi-coloured smoke

A recent British study published by Cancer Prevention Research showed that tobacco cigarette smokers who switched to smoke-free e-cigarettes – even for a short time – can drastically decrease the number of pollutants (acrolein and carbon monoxide, specifically) they are exposed to.

The study focused on 40 tobacco cigarette smokers who had shown interest in quitting at least twice. As a part of the study, each participant was given the same type of e-cigarette and everyone was encouraged to quit their tobacco cigarettes.

After four weeks, the participants were reassessed. At this mark, only 16 of the participants were solely using e-cigarettes. In these participants, though, doctors saw an 80 percent reduction in their exposure to acrolein and carbon monoxide.

Another 17 participants had incorporated tobacco cigarettes and e-cigarettes into their routine. Even these participants experienced a decline in acrolein exposure by 60 percent and carbon monoxide by 52 percent. These results show that in order to reap the full benefits of reducing exposure to air pollutants, cigarette smokers will need to make the transfer completely; however, tobacco reduction can also be associated with a decrease in air pollutant levels.

Dangers of Carbon Monoxide

Reducing the amount of carbon monoxide you inhale is beneficial because as the amount of carbon monoxide increases, the oxygen in your red blood cells is depleted. This depletion can result in arteries hardening, which is a factor in strokes and heart disease.

Researchers measured carbon monoxide in participants’ breath one week before switching to e-cigarettes, on the day they switched and again four weeks later. Urine tests for acrolein exposure followed the same testing schedule.

Doctors expected the drop in carbon monoxide; however, since acrolein is known to occur with VG e-liquid, the reduction in this chemical as well was a significant finding.

It can be a big decision to decide to make the switch from tobacco to e-cigarettes. If you’re considering switching, consider EverSmoke e-smoking products and supplies. Come check our site to stock up, plus find out even more information via our blog and knowledge center.

Fall, Vaping and Football: A Perfect Combination!

happy male friends at home

It is that time of year that so many look forward to…a cool breeze in the air and football fun!  We think there’s no better way to celebrate than with a group of friends where you can be yourself and enjoy what you love – the game of football and your favorite e-cig vaporizer.

Even if you aren’t a lover of the game of football, you have to admit that being involved in the competitive excitement with friends, while enjoying good eats, drinks and e-liquid flavors, is a blast.   Let’s face the fact that if you are a vaper, you know your enjoyment will be amplified if you are able to delight in your e-cig experience while partaking in some fun.

Enjoying football season as a vaper is a much better experience than as a traditional analog cigarette smoker.  As a former smoker, do you remember having to walk outside to enjoy your cigarette? You would think it was a safe time to cut out for a quick smoke break when all of sudden your friends would erupt with excitement at the play of the year.  You missed it because you had to step away!

When vaping, you don’t bother others with secondhand smoke and nasty fumes.  You can stay right where you are and enjoy your friends, football and vaporizer all at the same time.

If you prefer to go out to watch the game, many sports bars and restaurants allow vaping indoors as opposed to traditional smoking while you are munching on those wings, sipping on a beer and screaming your lungs out for your favorite team.  Also, a number of stadiums allow vaping and if not, they usually offer an area for you to vape without missing out on the game.

Want to get creative about trying new flavors of e-juice and blends while cheering on your favorite team?  The fun is no doubt in the flavor and EverSmoke offers a delicious assortment of 100 percent USA made flavor cartridges.

At Eversmoke, we are here to answer any questions you may have about transitioning to e-cig vaporizers, as well as provide you with top quality vaping devices and e-juice. Contact us if you have any questions, or continue browsing our blog and knowledge center.

4 E- Cig Exaggerations that Keep People Smoking

You all are probably well aware of the controversy that surrounds electronic cigarettes.  Anything that is relatively new and takes away from the tobacco industry is obviously going to be attacked from all ends.  As a result, there are many myths and exaggerations that float around regarding the e-cig health and safety.

Below are four common vaping embellishments that you may hear from people who are traditional smokers.

1. Electronic cigarettes are a fire hazard.

E-cigs do contain a heating element, but unlike cigarettes, there is no combustion process or open flame. Cigarette users are much more likely to start a fire through user careless.  With an e-cig, as long as you buy products that are high quality and act responsibly with the batteries and e-liquid, you shouldn’t have a problem.

2. Electronic cigarettes contain antifreeze.

This may be one of the biggest e-cig exaggerations floating around.  Let’s hope that any company that is reputable in any way would not put anti-freeze in their products.  Propylene glycol, which is used in the liquid of e-cigs, is often found in medications and various foods.  Ethylene glycol is what is found in anti-freeze.  Big difference!

3. Vaping is more addictive than smoking.

This is simply not true.  Both contain nicotine, but with the e-cig you can reduce your nicotine levels at any time.  The vaping hobby may be more addictive in pleasure and flavor, but not due to nicotine. You can have cartridges ranging from 0 milligrams (mg) of nicotine to 18 mg.  It is completely your choice.

4. Vapor from e-cigs is same as smoke from traditional cigarettes.

Wrong!  Cigarette smoke releases carcinogens into the air with every puff.  When a person vapes, the cloudlike fog they release is actually odorless water vapor.

Don’t listen to the exaggerations, myths and lies out there circulating about electronic cigarettes.  If you have questions, EverSmoke is here to provide answers.  Our vaping products are an excellent alternative to traditional smoking with a variety of e-liquid flavors and starter kits that can help you begin the new journey of vaping.

CDC Releases New Lower Numbers on the Percentage of U.S. Smokers

Newly released numbers on the rate of smoking in the United States have been released and many are surprised to find that smoking amongst American adults continues to drop. Currently, only around 15% of adults now say they smoke traditional tobacco cigarettes.

This number is 2% lower than last year and 3% lower than 2013—which is significant considering the U.S. spent a decade trying to curb smoking rates with no success before ramping up its anti-smoking campaign in 2010, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC is contributing the decline to higher taxes on tobacco products, tougher laws against smoking and more stringent anti-smoking campaigns. Director of the CDC’s North Shore-LIJ Health System in New York, Patricia Folan says there have even been instances of long-term heavy smokers quitting in recent years due to bans on indoor smoking.

According to Folan, she hears smokers all the time saying, “When I can’t smoke here, I can’t smoke there, when people see me smoke they look at me like I’m a pariah – it makes me want to not smoke anymore.”

All of these numbers come from the annual National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) which is performed by the CDC. The NHIS began as a way to track health issues in the American public in 1957.

Decreased Smoking Data

Just how much has the smoking rate decreased in recent years? Here are some stats to give you a better picture:

  • Since 1965, the rate of adults smoking has decreased 27%.
  • From 2004-2009, smoking rates didn’t decline and stayed at roughly 20%. Failure to see progress made anti-smoking proponents concerned that this hard-core smoking group could not be reached.
  • 17 percent of males smoke compared to 13 percent of women.
  • The real difference for getting numbers to start dropping again was graphic anti-smoking ads. (Smokers don’t enjoy seeing graphic images of what smoking could do to their bodies.)

According to the director of the American Lung Association’s national policy, Thomas Carr, U.S. smoking rates could drop even further with the pending regulation of other nicotine delivery devices such as smokeless e-cigarettes. Carr states, however, that much more research will have to be conducted first to know just how much of a role these devices could play on the reduction of smoking rates.

If you’re a smoker and no longer enjoy the smoke, ash and chemicals that come along with tobacco cigarettes, consider switching to a smarter smoking alterative. Why is Everyone Switching E-Smoking?

reasons to switch to vapingIt seems these days that smokers are switching to vaping all the time, and in greater numbers. Here’s a look at why!

  1. Technology: It’s everywhere. Technology has seeped into every nook, cranny, and aspect of our lives, and in many ways, improved it. Digital smoking has enabled smokers to have a more modern, simplified, cleaner way to smoke.

  2. Savings: Everyone wants to save more money, and factoring in how expensive smoking cigarettes is, alternatives are a total necessity. Vaping can save smokers thousands of dollars every year!

  3. Enjoyment: For many, vaping is vastly more enjoyable than smoking, and it becomes as much of a hobby out of enjoyment, as a craving for nicotine.

  4. Freedom: Who doesn’t need more? Freedom from ashtrays, from having to be in specific places to smoke, from feeling like a leper anytime you want to smoke… vaping offers much more ability to simply enjoy the process.

  5. Options: The amount of different options vapers have opposed to smokers is beyond compare. Different devices, ways to charge, accessories, flavors, nicotine levels, liquid ratios; it’s astounding and amazing!

  6. Convenience: Having smoking fit into your lifestyle, instead of having to work around it all the time is major. Convenience is a big part of what e-cigarettes offer!

  7. No smoke = none of the problems of smoke. Smoke is pretty awful, and it leaves behind a foul residue, AKA tar. No one likes secondhand smoke, and once you leave it behind, and get used to the clean essence of vapor, you’ll most likely never look back!

  8. No smell: Cigarette smoke and the lingering funk it leaves behind in its wake are just gross. They are the antithesis to clean, fresh air, and more akin to nasty, musty, and dingy.

  9. No stigma: While some people saunter through life never caring what others think, for those who do care about what others around them think, the stigma of smoking is not comfortable. It’s a reality for smokers that they are often looked down upon, and it’s rather nice to shed this image when one becomes a vaper.

  10. No tobacco: because tobacco is the root of the problem. It is the part of the cigarette that requires burning. It is the part that creates smoke. It is the part that causes the most harm. Without tobacco, cigarettes are rendered useless. Most smokers are thrilled to leave the tobacco behind because they know that it is the worst part of smoking.

Having an alternative option such as vaping has allowed smokers to enjoy what they love about smoking, in a much cleaner, simpler, more enjoyable way, without all of the negatives. Smokers are switching because they are finding their needs met in a better way. Technology is amazing, isn’t it?

Study Shows E-Cigs Produce Formaldehyde Only Under “Extreme Conditions”

Nobody wants to ingest formaldehyde – that bad smelling liquid you may remember from biology class during the lesson on dissection. Well, did you know that every time you smoke a tobacco cigarette, that’s exactly what you’re consuming, along with a whole host of other toxic chemicals?

Gross, right? Well the same argument has been unfairly lodged against electronic cigarettes, but fortunately now we have some data that says otherwise.

A recent study, conducted by cardiologist Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos and reported on by Wired Magazine, has revealed that some electronic cigarettes do indeed release harmful amounts of formaldehyde, but only under extreme conditions.  Formaldehyde could be detected when a vapor smoker repeatedly attempted to “dry puff” – a situation which is rare due to the unpleasant experience a dry hit provides.

These results challenge a 2015 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine that said electronic cigarettes produced a higher amount of formaldehydes than traditional analog cigarettes.  However, in that particular study, vaping habits were never taken into consideration.

In this recent study led by Dr. Farsalinos, he discovered that formaldehydes, which are carcinogenic and found in traditional tobacco cigarettes, can also be released by a third-generation electronic cigarette.  Certain advanced e-cigs offer a variety of power settings that a vapor smoker is able to customize for maximum e-liquid flavor.

However, Dr. Farsalinos explain further that the emission of aldehydes from these e-cigs was dramatically lower than those found in cigarette smoke.

The conclusion of Farsalinos study determined that in “real world” vaping situations, the amount of formaldehyde released from e-cigs is significantly less than from traditional cigarettes unless a person is participating in the rare and nasty act of repeat dry vaping.

Since its publication, the study has made big waves in the health community since now all the media hype about the dangers of formaldehyde in electronic cigarettes may need to be reconsidered.
