Vaping culture has it’s own lingo, and if you’re new to this scene, you may need a few of these slang terms interpreted! If you spend any amount of time online in the typical haunts for vaping folks, you’ve probably come across more than a few acronyms and/or abbreviations you weren’t sure of, so here’s your e-cig terminology cheat sheet!
APV: Advanced Personal Vaporizer. Larger, advanced vape pens that have serious batteries, LED screens, and offer a huge amount of control options.
DCC: Dual Coil Cartomizer. Cartomizers that are designed with 2 heating components. They produce incredible amounts of vapor.
DCT: Dual Coil Tank. Tanks are what hold e-liquid in vaporizers, and dual coil means they have two heating elements.
PCC: Personal Charging Case. A type of case that charges batteries without an outlet.
PG: Propylene Glycol. Used as a carrier substance in e-liquid.
RDA: Rebuildable Atomizer: One of the more popular types of atomizers at the moment, these require you to build them yourself.
VG: Vegetable Glycerin. Used as a carrier substance in e-liquid.
Analog: Traditional cigarettes; basically they are considered “analog” because they are not digital, like electronic cigarettes.
Atomizer: The part included in electronic cigarettes that heats the liquid and vaporizers it.
Carto: Short for cartomizer or e-cigarette cartridge.
Cartomizer: The element of the e-cigarette that holds the liquid and vaporizes the liquid; with e-cigs cartridges can also be called cartomizers.
Cart(s): Short for cartridge.
Digital Cigarette: Another name for electronic cigarettes.
E-Juice: A term for e-liquid, which is what carries the nicotine.
Throat Hit: The feeling of the force of vapor hitting the throat when vaping.
Vape: The act of vaping.
Vaping: Similar to smoking, it is literally the act of using an e-cigarette.
